See Rock City & More
Chattanooga isn’t called the Scenic City for nothing, friends. The area is known for its incredible outdoor beauty, and there are a few places you might want to check out when you’re visiting for a wedding at our Howe Farms venues. You can’t go wrong with the iconic Ruby Falls and Rock City Gardens, but other stops you should consider include Point Park and Sunset Rock for unmatched and totally Instagrammable views.
Live Like a Tourist
If you’re spending a few days in Chattanooga for your friend’s Howe Farms wedding, you might just want to make a weekend trip of it. If you do, you’ll certainly want to check out the Tennessee Aquarium. Two buildings are teeming with incredible exhibits– both fresh and saltwater– that allow you to come face to face with creatures from all over the world. This is a must see.
Another fun stop is the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway! This funicular railway system is more than 125 years old, and serves as a vessel for gorgeous views and a lot of history. This Chattanooga attraction draws visitors from all over the world, and carries them up and down Lookout Mountain across Civil War sites and more. Also, be sure to stop by Clumpie’s Ice Cream next door before or after your incline experience. This ice cream shop is a multi-location Chattanooga favorite with tons of flavors– both the classics and some a little more on the wild side.
Drink & Dine
If you’re a foodie, there are a lot of places in Chattanooga you just have to check out during your stay! From handcrafted cocktails to craft beer to incredible food you’ll want to write home about, the Chattanooga food scene has a little something for everyone. Grab the freshest burger of your life and a draft old fashioned at Main Street Meats, raw oysters from every coast at Easy Bistro, and amazing Mexican cuisine with a side of ambiance at Taqueria Jalisco. Check out the Whiskey Thief– the rooftop bar at the Edwin Hotel– for cocktails with a view, and for brunch and bakery items, don’t skip Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, try the Hot Chocolatier for artisan chocolates, confections, and one-of-a-kind desserts to die for.
Hit the Trails
If you’re into hiking, you’ve really come to the right place! Chattanooga is notorious for its many gorgeous hiking trails, many of which will lead you to incredible waterfalls and scenic overlooks that make every mile worth the effort. Places to check out include Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center, Cloudland Canyon, Big Soddy Gulf, Rainbow Lake Trail, and Craven’s House Loop.
